Trump fait sauter un autre bateau, tuant 6 personnes

Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he had ordered a sixth strike on a ship off the coast of Venezuela, stating that, under his authority as commander in chief, the Secretary of War had carried out a "lethal kinetic strike" on a vessel he described as linked to a designated terrorist organization involved in drug trafficking in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.

Mr. Trump claims that "six male narco-terrorists aboard the ship" were killed during the operation led by Pete Hegseth, a claim made without evidence, as noted by several media outlets, including the New York Times.

This sixth US military operation targeting boats believed to be transporting drugs to the United States has left nearly 30 suspected criminals dead.

In his Social Truth message, Trump claimed that US intelligence services had confirmed that the ship "was engaged in narcotics trafficking, was associated with illicit narcotics terrorist networks, and was transiting along a known route of criminal arms trafficking organizations."

All persons concerned

Several observers have challenged the president's repeated claims since the start of these strikes against the cartels, questioning whether all those targeted were indeed drug traffickers.

The Colombian President

Colombian President Gustavo Petro recently stated that "indications show that the last boat bombed was Colombian, with Colombian citizens inside," asserting that the fifth ship struck by the United States off the Venezuelan coast did not belong to Venezuela but to Colombia.

Unfounded?

The White House called Petro's claim "baseless and reprehensible," rejecting the Colombian president's claim that the ship struck by the United States was Colombian and carrying Colombian citizens.

Trump concluded his message by confirming the deaths of all those aboard the ship, writing that "the strike was conducted in international waters, and six male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the strike. No U.S. forces were injured."
